Ferry Publications was established in 1987 by Miles Cowsill and John Hendy and is now widely recognised as Europe’s leading publisher in this specialist field, producing a range of publications covering all aspects of the ever-changing ferry scene in the UK, Scandinavia and Mediterranean spheres of operations. In addition to our books, we publish a quarterly ferry publication, formerly known as European Ferry Scene, but as from October 2009 is known as Ferry & Cruise Review, which will include an overview of the expanding cruise industry. Our popular website allows the reader to purchase any of our books and pay for them online via a secure site. Where a new book is being published, interest can be expressed in forwarding an email in an order to be advised as and when it will be ready for distribution.

New titles and amended updates are constantly being produced or are in the planning stage. In order to keep up-to-date both with what is going on in the world of European ferries and with our new titles, the reader is strongly recommended to subscribe to our quarterly magazine Ferry & Cruise Review (formerly known as European Ferry Scene & Cruise Ship Review). Ferry Publications has gained a reputation of producing high-quality books at affordable prices. In the last couple of years the company has expanded with its parent company Lily Publications into the cruise industry and a number of new publications will be produced in 2010 focusing on this part of the maritime industry.

We pride ourselves in the standard of photographic reproduction which we achieve and we believe that our books fill a considerable gap in the market, not only for shipping enthusiasts but anyone who has a passing interest in shipping and the sea.

For 2010 our company has been appointed to produce a number of new books, including the full design story of the new P&O Ferries’ vessels to be built for the Dover-Calais service.

From its inception Ferry Publications Ltd has been a joint enterprise between Miles Cowsill and John Hendy. In April 2007 Ferry Publications commenced operating under the wing of Lily Publications Ltd in the Isle of Man. This has no way affected the nature and style of the successful Ferry Publications brand, which will continue to operate to its usual high standard.
