Description

The opening of the bird route line celebrated its 50th anniversary on 14th May 2013. It is one of the great success stories of German-Scandinavian transport and at the time, was the largest project in the German transport post-war period. It was not until 1963 that people were able to travel the shortest distance between the cities of Hamburg and Copenhagen with this route. The route quickly developed to be one of the most popular ferry routes in the world. The book is written in German but it is also rewarding for readers who do not speak German. Over 850 photos and drawings on 552 pages speak for themselves. This is an independent publisher.
